We have discovered 42 abandoned boreholes across Udi Local Government Area.
Access to clean water is a fundamental right, and as Chairman of Udi Local Government Area, I am taking bold steps to ensure our people are not left behind. We have discovered 42 abandoned boreholes across Udi Local Government Area, and we are fully committed to reviving them for the benefit of our communities..
I visited one of these moribund boreholes in Egede to assess its state and begin the process of restoration. We recently embarked on reactivating them and have started reviving them, starting with 4 locations to ensure Ndi Udi have access to reliable safe water. This effort is in line with Governor Peter Mbah’s vision to make potable water accessible throughout Udi and Enugu State..
Our administration will continue to prioritize sustainable water infrastructure for all.

Restoring these boreholes will greatly improve water supply, especially in rural areas, and promote better hygiene and public health. We remain open to collaboration with individuals and organizations who share in this mission of progress and sustainable development for our people. Our administration will continue to prioritize sustainable water infrastructure for all.
